Jacob Black closed his eyes; he was leaning on the counter in the miniscule kitchen. His shirt lay forgotten on the couch in the other room, unneeded and unused. He stood in nothing more than a cut-off-at-the-knee pair of black jeans, and a wire around his ankle. And that was his life as a werewolf. Jacob pictured himself on First Beach, the wind was blowing slightly, leaving his hair a ruffled mess as it passed by. He shrugged it off, because in his dreams, he was standing next to Bella Swan, a childhood friend and his current crush. He felt invincible. Until the black outline of another male crossed Jacob’s mind. The red hair was easily identified, and Jacob’s perfect world came crashing down. He growled softly, and opened his eyes again.

Skarlett Jameson was thrilled with her surroundings, if a little peeved about the circumstances. Why, you ask? Because her mother had forced her to fly more than a hundred miles to some little backwoods town in Washington that she'd never even seen more than five times in her entire fifteen years' existence alone. But she had always loved La Push the few times she'd been to visit, and she was excited to see her mother's cousins- her cousins- Billy and Jacob Black. But she was nervous too, since she hadn't been back since she was nine and so much time had passed....
And because her mother hadn't come too. Supposedly, it was best for her to be in La Push, for reasons she still didn't understand. Her mother had refused to explain, and so here she was.. Shaking her head with a sigh, she walked up to the door with the two bags that she had as her ride left. Putting down the bigger one and leaving the other slung over her shoulder, she knocked lightly...

Jacob pushed himself off the counter, and walked over to the door. The wolf-boy smiled at his cousin. "Hey, Skarlett," Jacob smiled. He hadn't remembered seeing the girl for many years. Six, he thought was the number, but he couldn't be sure. "Need some help moving?" He asked, automatically taking the bag Skarlett had just put down.
Jacob walked into the warm environment of the house. It was an environment that would always leave a shiver up his spine, post-werewolf times. To go from the cold rainy town to his small warm house would always make him happy. But now, he never felt the change... Probably due to his naturally warm, werewolf temperature. The only shiver up his spine he got now was the signal that told the people and animals around him that he was phasing.
He smiled at his cousin. "Oh, by the way, you'll be living in my room while I occupy the couch."

Skarlett couldn't help but to smile back at her cousin as he answered the door, her mood instantly lifted just with that one gesture. It was difficult to be nervous in the face of her cousin's friendliness after all. "Hey, Jacob." she greeted, amazed at how much her cousin had grown over the six years since she'd been back to La Push. She felt like she'd missed alot, but she was suddenly eager to find out what had gone on in her absence, and to get to know this side of her family again.
"Sure, thanks." she said when he took the bag she'd set down, grateful not to have to pick it up again. Following him into the house, she nudged the door closed behind her and trailed after him. The house was as warm and inviting as she remembered from those long-ago visits. And now she was there to stay..at least for awhile. Hearing him speak again, she frowned just a bit in an apologetic way. She didn't like the idea of taking over his room, but she didn't much relish the idea of sleeping on the couch either.
"I'm sorry to be a bother." she said apologetically, "I hate to put you out."

"It's okay," Jacob laughed, not wanting to mention that he didn't get that much sleep anyway, and it would only wake her up when he came into the house in the early hours of the morning to go up to his bedroom. "We want to make you as comfortable as we can while you stay," Jacob smirked as he added: "And we wouldn't want such a princess sleeping on such an un-princessy couch," in a teasing way.
Jacob proceeded to lead Skarlett up the stairs of the small house into his old bedroom.

"Okay, if you say so." she said with a smile and a shrug, willing to take his word for it. She didn't know why anyone would chose to give up their bed if they didn't have to, but then she didn't understand what was going on with him at the moment. She would have understood perfectly then. But anyway, she was grateful, so she wouldn't question. She simply smiled in response to his comment about making her as comfortable as possible, then laughed softly in response to the 'princess' tease.
"Oh, you're such the gentleman cousin Jacob! A real prince!" she joked, deliberately adding a coquettish, breathy squeak to her voice when she said it and fluttering her eyelashes before she laughed. If the first few minutes were any indication, maybe she really would enjoy her stay just as much as the ones in the past. Shaking the thoughts from her head, she followed Jacob up the stairs.

Jacob smiled his sweet smile, and continued to walk upstairs. "Here you go," he said, tossing her bag lightly onto the bed that took up most of the room. Jacob stood in the doorway, casually leaning against the door, waiting for Skarlett to unpack.
"Once you unpack, I'll drive you around town to show you how much everything changed," he said as the idea popped into his head.

Skarlett grinned in response to his smile, continuing to trail after him up the stairs. "Thanks." she told him gratefully, sincerely appreciating his help carrying the bag since she knew it was heavy (and wasn't aware that it wouldn't bother him). Slipping into the room, she dropped her other bag on the bed and started to unpack, not minding at all that he was just standing there watching.
Her cosmetics came first, being laid strowed out over the dressed for the moment. Then the various little knick-knacks, which weren't many, that she'd wanted to bring. And finally, she dumped her clothes out on the bed and stowed the two bags beneath it, listening to Jacob's suggestion about driving around town. "Sounds fun." she said brightly, packing away her clothes and other things neatly into their places.
All in all, the proccess took ten minutes at the most before she turned her attention back to him. "All set."

"Alright!" Jacob said, his eyes lighting up at the event of driving Skarlett around town. "And wait until you see the car that I built!" Jacob said excitedly as he ran down the stairs at an almost blinding speed. He stopped at the end of the small hallway and brushed his hair out of his eyes as he waited for Skarlett to come down after him.

Skarlett couldn't help but to laugh a bit in response to his obvious enthusiasm, not because she found it funny but rather because she liked it. Her cousin seemed to be as cheerful as she remembered, and she was already enjoying his company. But she still hoped that she could manage to make a few friends around La Push and Forks, too.
"You built a car?"she answered with equal excitement, and awe as she followed him down the stairs, though he still got down them way before her. Reaching his side after a moment, she grinned at him. "Okay, speedy, let's see this car of yours."

"Yeah, come on," Jacob sped out the door, only pausing to hold it open for Skarlett and her slowness. Everything was easier as a werewolf; the speed, the strength, and pretty much everything else, but it made everything more dificult at the same time. Being human, Jacob had nothing against the vampires, he probably wouldn't have cared why Bella worship them as much if he were human. And on the Bella topic, he could hang out with her, hours on end, without having to think about vampires. He could be normal, and not have to worry about anything stupid... like vampires.
And up until now, he thought they were fictional....

Skarlett dashed after him out the door, slipping past him with a grin when he paused to hold it open for her. She could tell he was excited, but she didn't think it was just that that had him running at what were, to her, top speeds which she was too lazy to move at just for the sake of getting where she was going fast. But it was entertaining to watch him dash off only to have to stop and wait for her.
Once she was out of the door and standing in the yard, she paused to wait for him to lead the way again.

((OOC:: Is Skarlett a werewolf at this time??))
Jacob smiled at his cousin, and led the way to the garage. He smirked as he opened the garage, "Isn't it beautiful?" he sighed, looking at the car that was parked next to two motorcycles, one black and one red.

((Technically not. If I remember right, the werewolves started phasing when they were in the proximity of vampires for awhile, right? Up until arriving to La Push, she won't have been within miles of them so she's not yet but will be soon.))
Skarlett smiled back at him, following after him in the direction of the garage. Hands tucked into the back pockets of her pants as she stood, watching the doors of the garage swing open. When, at last, she could see the car she allowed her expression to show her awe and respect for what she saw. "Impressive." she said with a smile, truly intrigued that her cousin was so capable with vehicles.
